Ugly Orange Extract provides better hydration, protection and enhanced hair manageability than traditional hydrolysed proteins such as wheat and keratin. The benefit over traditional proteins is that this unique extract doesn't make hair brittle and hard, avoiding possible hair breakage. It is also a gluten-free protein alternative!
Brassicamidopropyl Dimethylamine is a non-quat hair conditioning agent with better performance to Behentrimonium Chloride and with a higher level of naturality, derived from sustainably sourced Brassica Napus seed oil and manufactured with a patented energy-efficient process. As a conditioning agent, it provides excellent hair detangling leaving your waves, curls and kinks easily manageable. So if you have a hard time brushing and detangling your tresses, this one is for you. This conditioning agent is also non-toxic to aquatic life, non-irritating to skin or eyes and readily biodegradable!
Shea butter is rich in vitamin A, E and fatty acids, which add moisture and shine to the hair. Its non-greasy quality makes it an excellent moisturizer for the hair. It softens dry, brittle hair and repairs split damaged ends as well.
Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride is a specific fraction of coconut oil fatty acids resulting in silky oil. It is known to create a lightweight and non-greasy barrier for the hair to retain moisture. Avocado oil has regenerative and moisturizing properties. Its fatty acids help to moisturize, nourish and strengthen your hair strands and protect them from damage.

Yes, definitely! This is why it is a 2-in-1 hair treatment. Our Ugly Orange Hair Mask has a high content of conditioning agents and well moisturising ingredients, such as Avocado Oil, Shea Butter and the fatty acids from coconut oil. Due to this, it is an ideal Deep Conditioner for all hair types or a daily conditioner for thirstier and thicker curly and coily textures.
Is a hair mask and hair conditioner the same?
Hair masks and conditioners have often a very similar base in terms of the ingredient list. However, hair masks tend to have a higher concentration of conditioning agents, butters and oils than daily conditioners do. This kind of intensive moisture treatment is recommended to do every week or two to restore good hydration levels into your hair shaft. For thicker curls that tend to be drier by nature, the heavier components of hair masks are often ideal to use as a daily conditioner.
Does the Ugly Orange Hair Mask help to detangle?
What is a good detangling conditioner depends on the conditioning agents used. Our Hair Mask uses a Brassicamidopropyl Dimethylamine, which is a non-quat hair conditioning agent with better performance to the ultimate detangler, Behentrimonium Chloride, and with a higher level of naturality. It is also rich in natural and sustainable emollients that have the sensory feel of silicones like Dimethicone. These ingredients give amazing slip without forming a silicone-feeling barrier onto your hair shaft.
Can the Ugly Orange Hair Mask be left overnight?
For an intensive treatment, you can leave the hair mask in overnight using our Anti-Frizz Microfibre Hair Turban and wash it out in the morning for super damaged hair or for even better results. This will ensure the ultimate product penetration into your hair shaft. If you are not a fan of sleeping with anything on your hair, you can also achieve the same results by wrapping the product in for a movie night at home.
