Afro Kinky Castor Hair Oil - FAQ

What is a good moisturizer for 4c hair?
We know that good afro hair products that moisturize super-tight coily hair can be hard to find. With great moisture retention properties, our Afro Kinky Castor Hair Oil keeps your 4c hair or kinky hair moisturized for a long time. It is rich in excellent sealing oil for 4c hair, such as Castor Oil, which is a great oil for high porosity hair that tends to lose moisture quickly.

How to use castor oil on 4c hair?
Castor oil is one of the best oils to grow natural hair but it also makes the hair noticeably healthier-looking within a few months of use. You can use castor hair oil as a pre-poo treatment to protect your hair before your wash day or as a styling method to seal in added moisture. However, If you're interested in using castor oil for hair growth, remember to rub it also into your scalp. You can also try our Kinky Hair Oil Kit to cover all the basics, a daily hair oil, hair growth oil and a scalp oil treatment.

Which hair oil should I choose, Wavy, Curly or Kinky?
Our Afro Kinky Castor Hair Oil is designed for textured type 4 hair that has challenges to maintain moisture in the hair. It contains thick oils that help to detangle and soften tight hair textures, such as kinky and coily hair. If you are looking for hair oil for curly hair, but don't have very thick or coarse hair, try our Moisturizing Curly Hair Oil, which has a lighter consistency than our kinky curly hair oil but can moisturize the hair from inside the hair shaft. If you have fine wavy curly hair, we recommend trying our Weightless Wavy Hair Oil, which only contains lightweight hair oils that controls frizz and split ends without weighing your hair down.

Do I need to use a leave-in conditioner before the Afro Kinky Castor Hair Oil?
We recommend using the LOG or LOC method, which means first to apply a leave-in conditioner (L), then hair oil (O) and, lastly, curl cream (C) or gel (G) if you want to add hold to the look. However, this is optional and not necessary for all hair types. Since oils are hydrophobic (water-repelling), it is important to have your hair well hydrated before using hair oils. Especially if you have dry, coarse coily hair that has challenges keeping well hydrated. Applying a hydration + oil combo will keep your hair moisturized for days.
