Curly Hair Oil Kit - FAQ

Which hair oil kit should I choose, Wavy, Curly or Kinky kit?
Our daily hair oils mark the difference in our Hair Oil Kits. Wheater you are looking for Wavy, Curly or Kinky properties, choose your kit based on the daily hair oils. The intensive treatments can be used for all hair types. Our Weightless Wavy Hair Oil is designed to be a lightweight hair oil, hence it is suitable for fine wavy hair types but can be also used for thicker hair types. If you are looking for a sealing hair oil to control frizz and split ends, this oil is the right choice for you. However, if you are looking for a more conditioning hair oil, take a look at our Moisturizing Curly Hair Oil, which is rich in penetrating hair oils that can moisturize the hair from inside the hair shaft. If you have tight textured afro coily hair rather than wavy curly hair, take a look at our Afro Kinky Castor Hair Oil, which retains moisture inside the hair shaft for days.

Can you moisturise your hair with coconut oil?
Coconut oil is one of the best hair moisturisers for curly hair there is. Saturated fat comprises more than 90% of the fat content of coconut oil, the majority of which is in the form of medium-chain fatty acids. This structure gives it low molecular weight and a straight linear chain making it easy to penetrate inside the hair shaft. Our Moisturizing Curly Hair Oil is rich in one of the best coconut oil for hair, Caprylic/capric triglyceride, which is derived from coconut oil and glycerin. It gives a very light touch that is not at all greasy/oily feeling on the hair. One of the faves of curly girls!

What essential oil is best for dry scalp?
Certain essential oils, such as tea tree, sage and ylang-ylang, can be effective as a dry scalp treatment. Often dry scalp can be caused by dandruff, fungus, poor hygiene or possible sensitivity to hair care products. Our Fortune Scalp Oil Treatment is high in all these actives. A primary constituent of tea tree essential oil is terpinen-4-ol, which gives it great antibacterial and antifungal properties making it a great dandruff treatment. Sage essential oil also functions as an effective antibacterial agent, helping inhibit the growth of bacterial infections. If you maintain a healthy scalp the moisture level is also healthier. The best of all, Ylang-ylang essential oil is ideal for those with dry scalps. It can control sebum secretion in your scalp, keeping an ideal balance of natural oils in your scalp. Never too dry or never too oily!

Does castor oil promote hair growth?
Castor oil's hair growth benefits have been believed and followed for ages, and now, studies have found that the scalps of bald men show higher levels of a hormone-like compound called prostaglandin PGD2 than men who are not balding. Flowingly, castor oil contains ricinoleic acid, which has been demonstrated to inhibit this PGD2 compound. Allegedly, this could lead to help hair growth and reduce hair loss. How often should you use castor oil for hair growth? There is no standard to this. Like with other intensive treatments, we recommend using it as a weekly or bi-weekly treatment. Our hair growth oil won't form product build-up as it's washed off afterwards.
