Deep Cleansing Shampoo - FAQ

Is the Deep Cleansing Shampoo sulphate-free?
Yes, it is a sulphate-free shampoo! We only use mild, plant-based surfactants, such as Decyl glucoside and Cocamidopropyl betaine, which are gentle and kind to fragile curls and do not sting the eyes. Whilst being mild, our shampoo also contains an anionic surfactant, that makes fast a rich creamy foam facilitating product distribution and cleansing any product build-up you might have, without irritating as sulphate surfactants would.

How often should I shampoo wavy curly hair?
How often you should use a cleansing shampoo for natural hair is not set in stone, it depends much on your hair type and lifestyle. Often wavy hair gets oilier faster than tight coily hair and needs more frequent washing to keep healthy scalp conditions. For loose waves and curls, we recommend washing 3-5 times a week and tight coily curl types to co-wash weekly and deep cleanse with shampoo once or twice a week. Ringlet curls can on the other hand shampoo or co-wash every few days to a week. Depending on your hair type, wash less if you have dry hair and more for oily hair.

Can I use the Deep Cleansing Shampoo for bleached/damaged curls?
Yes, our sulphate-free shampoo is perfect for those who experience damaged hair from colouring, heat styling or other chemical treatments. It’s formulated to cleanse your curls with gentle, non-irritating cleansing agents that won't do any further damage as sulphates would. The formula is rich in Aloe Vera, which is known for its moisturizing properties and nourishing vitamins promoting healthier hair thus helping to prevent further hair breakage. We also added Horsetail Extract, which is known to strengthen the hair, reduce dandruff and also to boost scalp circulation, all of which are essential for strong, healthy waves, curls and kinks.
