Shampoo and Conditioner Duo - FAQ

How often should I shampoo my wavy, curly or kinky hair?
This is not set in stone, it depends much on your hair type and lifestyle. Often wavy hair gets oilier faster than tight coily hair and needs more frequent washing to keep healthy scalp conditions. For loose waves and curls, we recommend washing 3-5 times a week and tight coily curl types to co-wash weekly, and deep cleanse with shampoo once or twice a month. Ringlet curls can on the other hand shampoo or co-wash every few days to a week. Depending on your hair type, wash less if you have dry hair and more for oily hair.

Is the Shea Butter Wavy Conditioner silicone-free?
Yes, it is a silicone-free conditioner! We are always looking for naturally derived silicone-free alternatives to create the best products for frizzy hair. The Shea butter, Castor, Avocado and Argan Oil acts as natural emollients that flatten and seal the hair cuticles, creating a smoother outer layer of the hair strand. Smoother hair reduces the friction between each hair strand, making the hair align better next to each other and resulting in an amazing glossy, frizz-free curls.

Is the Gentle Cleansing Shampoo sulphate-free?
Yes, it is a sulphate-free shampoo! We only use mild, plant-based surfactants, such as Decyl glucoside, Cocamidopropyl betaine and Disodium cocoamphodiacetate, that are gentle and kind to fragile curls, do not sting the eyes and make a fine-bubbled foam. Whilst being mild they gently cleanse any product build-up you might have, without irritating as sulphate surfactants would.

Can I use the Shea Butter Wavy Conditioner as a leave-in conditioner?
Usually, a leave-in conditioner for curly hair consists of a lighter, more curl-defining formula that helps with the detangling and styling process than rinse-off conditioners do, which is why it is sold separately. Also, some curls get easily weighed down if the leave-in product is too heavy. However, if you have dry, thirsty tresses, there is no harm to try. You can give it a go. Your waves, curls or kinks might love it!
